Clinical Pharmacy & Pharmacy Practice

Abdulganiyu Giwa, is a Professor of Clinical Pharmacy & Pharmacy Practice (Pharmacoeconomics, Global Logistics & Supply Chain Management) in the Department of Clinical Pharmacy & Pharmacy Practice, Faculty of Pharmaceuticsl Sciences, University of Ilorin.

He is the first Pharmacy Professor in Ilorin Emirate and the first substantive Dean of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Ilorin, with over two decade of university teaching, research, community development/ administrative experience.

He has served as the Pioneer Head of Department of Clinical Pharmacy & Pharmacy Practice and Pioneer Sub-Dean of Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences.

His areas of research interest cover Pharmacoeconomics and Outcome Research, Pharmaceutical Management, Logistics, Data Analytics and Supply Chain Management, including Vaccine Security and Cold chain Management. He has Interest in Pharmacotherapy and Pharmaceutical Care Research.

He has to his credit over fifty publications in reputable outlets covering journals and edited conference proceedings. He has successfully supervised 6 Masters dissertations and 2 Ph.D. theses. Professor Giwa is a member of many professional bodies within and outside Nigeria, and was a Consultant to the United Nations Children Fund (UNICEF) on Vaccine Security, Cold Chain and Logistics in Polio Eradication Initiative and Expanded Programme on Immunization.

Prof Giwa is the President/Founder of Giwarex Foundation and a student/adherent of Tariqa Tijaniyya.
