Biography

Abdulganiyu Giwa, is a Professor of Clinical Pharmacy & Pharmacy Practice (Pharmacoeconomics, Global Logistics & Supply Chain Management) in the Department of Clinical Pharmacy & Pharmacy Practice, Faculty of Pharmaceuticsl Sciences, University of Ilorin.

He is the first Pharmacy Professor in Ilorin Emirate with over two decade of university teaching, research, community development/ administrative experience.

He has served as the Pioneer Head of Department of Clinical Pharmacy & Pharmacy Practice and Pioneer Sub-Dean of Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences.

His areas of research interest cover Pharmacoeconomics and Outcome Research, Pharmaceutical Management, Logistics, Data Analytics and Supply Chain Management, including Vaccine Security and Coldchain, Pharmacotherapy and Pharmaceutical Care.

He has to his credit over fifty publications in reputable outlets covering journals and edited conference proceedings. He has successfully supervised 6 Masters dissertations and 2 Ph.D. theses. Professor Giwa is a member of many professional bodies within and outside Nigeria, and was a Consultant to the United Nations Children Fund (UNICEF) on Vaccine Security, Cold Chain and Logistics in Polio Eradication Initiative and Expanded Programme on Immunization.
