About Us

History

The Department of Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacy Practice consists of Department members with expertise in Clinical Pharmacy, Pharmacy Practice, Pharmacotherapy, Pharmaceutical Care, Basic and Clinical Pharmacokinetics, Pharmacoeconomics & Outcome Research, Health Related Quality of Life Studies and Public Health Pharmacy. They apply these skills to a wide range of exciting problems in patient care as relates to drug therapy/drug utilization and administration.  The Department administers the Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacy Practice concentration within the Bachelor of Pharmacy and Doctor of Pharmacy degrees  in Pharmacy.

Additionally, the department are members of the faculty pharmacy graduate field, as well as several other graduate fields offering M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees.

The department is committed to the University’s mission of teaching, learning,

research and community development services in the field of Pharmacy. It

is aimed at producing men and women who are well-trained in all facets of

Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacy Practice with the main purpose of meeting national and international needs in the area of drug therapy/patient care  advancement. Train students to be self-reliant in the field of Clinical pharmacy and pharmacy practice. Produce students who are adequately prepared for postgraduate work.
